BRYAN ODIGWE CLAIMS EIGHTH POSITION AT PROFESSOR BABATUNDE OSOTIMEHIN ESSAY COMPETITION

It is indeed a happy day for 400 level medical student, Bryan Odigwe and his family; after placing eighth position at the annual Professor Babatunde Osotimehin essay competition.

Bryan’s excitement was palpable, as he took to the Whatsapp page of his class to share his excitement with his colleagues:

Good day guys.
I’m reporting live from Sheraton hotel Abuja, and I’m pleased to inform you that my essay placed 8th position at the Babatunde osotimehin essay competition. I’m international, I’m gonna get published. I’m gonna be famous??????

With over 200 applications from more than 90 universities in Nigeria, the top ten essays were selected to be published internationally.

The award ceremony took place today at Sheraton hotel, Abuja at the Annual Guest Lecture of the late Professor. The guest lecture was given by the Nigerian Minister for Health, Professor Isaac Adewole who graced the occasion among several diginitaries.

Cash prizes of five hundred thousand naira, three hundred thousand naira and two hundred thousand naira were awarded to the top three essays respectively; with awards of recognition given to the top ten speakers in addition to publishing of their works.
