In a 21 -man delegation breakfast meeting with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, PDP members offered the former PDP ’ s Board of Trustee ( BOT ) chairman sincere apologies. It can be recalled that three years ago in 2015 , the former president publicly ordered that his membership card be torn out of anger.
On Saturday, the delegation led by the party’s national chairman , Prince Uche Secondus offered apologies for what the party leaders described as “ bad conduct and mistreatment of him .” The appeal was granted by the former President.

The meeting was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library ( OOPL ) , Abeokuta . Among those at the meeting were the Chairman , Board of Trustees of the PDP , Senator Walid Jibrin; a former Deputy National Chairman of the party , Chief Olabode George ; a former Governor of Osun State , Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola Other items discussed at the meeting included the coalition alliance against President Buhari. The coalition is made up of 39 political parties and associations who have signed Memorandum of Understanding in a grand alliance.

The former President advised the alliance to be cautious of external forces which he believed might want to destabilise the arrangement. He also stated that his doors would remain opened to those who might need his advice on the way to move the country forward as he would no longer play partisan politics, which means that he is not loyal to a particular party or group. PDP’s national chairman, Secondus also said that, “The consultation had become necessary to seek direction from Obasanjo and factor in his advice as PDP prepares for the 2019 general elections .”
