NEW HALL EXECUTIVES, HONOURABLES SWORN IN.

After the dissolution of the 2021/2022 Executive Council and the 2022/2023 Hall Assembly at the last  ordinary meeting of the Hall Assembly, the newly elected Executive Council and Hall Assembly members were sworn in by a representative of the ABH electoral committee. The Executives and Honourables all swore to represent the Hall and its interests to the best of their ability and to carry out their duties as stated by the constitution. 

The Executives sworn in included Mr Jesufemi Adeyeye for the Office of the Hall Chairperson, Mr Omoniyi Nicholas for the Office of the Defence Minister, Miss Oluwasijibomi Oyefabi for the Office of the Female Affairs Minister, Mr Israel Fort for the Office of the Social and Buttery minister, and Mr Opara Charles for the Office of the Sports Minister.  Mr Uzor Uchechukwu, who won the election for the Office of the Health and Sanitation Minister was not sworn in as he was deemed illegible for the office. Mr Uchechukwu was relying on his service in the Hall Assembly to qualify for the office. He was however deemed to not have served in the Hall Assembly due to a deficient attendance record, despite his protestations. The Hall Assembly agreed to consider Mr Uchechukwu’s appeal at the next Hall Assembly Meeting.

The ABH Executive Council for the 2022/2023 tenure

The sworn in Honourables included Honourable Okpara Solomon Chimezie of the G1 constituency, Honourable Olaiya Sunkanmi of the APS constituency, Honourable Solomon Oluwatodimu of the A2 constituency, Honourable Badmus Marvellous of the C2 Constituency, Honourable Bolatito  Boluwatife of the UIMSA Constituency, Honourable Jayeoba Olamide Favour of the UIMSA Constituency, Honourable Ndubueze Chukwuka Chukwuebuka of the G1 Constituency, Honorable Adebayo Akindele Olumide of the UADS constituency, Honourable Oladejo Farida. UADS Constituency, Honourable Agbede Temitope. APS Constituency, Honourable Duru Vivian of the B ground constituency, Honourable Goodluck Samuel Omotayo of the E1 Constituency, Honourable Akinsola Temiloluwa Motunrayo of the NIMELSSA Constituency, and Honourable Adenuga Mary Ikeoluwa of the A1 constituency.

The Principal Officers for the 2023/2024 ABH Hall Assembly were then elected by simple majority. Honourable Okpara Solomon Chimezie of the G1 constituency was elected as the Speaker of the Hall Assembly over Honourable Adenuga Mary Ikeoluwa of the A1 constituency. Honourable Goodluck Samuel Omotayo of the E1 Constituency was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Hall Assembly and Honourable Badmus Marvellous of the C2 Constituency was elected as the Chief Whip of the Assembly. Honourable Okpara then moved to adjourn the meeting to a later date.
