Awéléwà (Part 6)

Once a gloomy dark night
Now we see a shining light
The faces of heaven should rejoice
That life has returned to the land.

The one who went and came
Paying with his life
For what he never bought
Who dared death, and spat at his face.

The road to the forest
The way to hell
I was also afraid
To face brutal death.

In the forest(Flash back)

I died, I died once again
I died like the one who never lived
Like a lamp with no oil
In my mind
I died several times.

I died, I died once again
When the monsters walked the nights
And the animals fed on my flesh
In my mind
I died several times.

I died, I died once again
When the days were endless
And the way out appeared like the way to death
In my mind
I died several times.

I died, I died once again
At the sight of the water of this ocean
That leads to the life after
In my mind
I died several times.

If I sing a song of adieu
And a wave of goodbye
If I die like a tree
But never sprout back

If birds feed on my flesh
And maggot calls me home
If this day is the last
And we have to part

Will you only remember me
As the one who saved?
Or, will you always say
This same bitter ‘NO’

Read: The village once again experienced life. But I – the saviour – died once again as she shifted away the moment she saw I was her saviour.
