2014 AND 2015 MEDICAL SET QUALIFY FOR FINALS AT B.O OSUNTOKUN QUIZ COMPETITION

FCR, ABH – The semi-finals of the highly anticipated Professor B. O. Osuntokun inter level UIMSA quiz competition held on the afternoon of Saturday, August 4, 2018. There is no doubt that it was adrenaline filled from the beginning to the end. The first bout was between the 2015 set and the 2018 set, and the second was between the 2017 set and the soon to be doctors.
As the first match started, the 2018 set took an early lead, schooling the current UIMSA finalists in the general studies section. However, the 2015 set bounced back in the subsequent sections and eventually won with an aggregate score of 44, leading their opponents with just 2 points. The 2015 set won the round but the 2018 set definitely won the hearts of the spectators. Lamide of the 2018 set, definitely won the crowd over with his display of intellectual dexterity and a wide array of knowledge
After a bit of delay, the second match between the 2014 set and the 2017 set began. Although being relatively uneventful, this bout was not a piece of cake for the outgoing set. The 2017 set fought till the very end; unfortunately for them, they ended losing by just a point. The aggregate scores are 30:29.
The event had its beautiful moments but an air of disorganization lingered in the background throughout the event. The audience was in no doubt enraged, at the numerous interruptions that plagued the events, from unsteady power supply to unvetted quiz questions, requiring the quiz master, Dr. Olusina Ajidahun to request members of the academic committee for cross-checking, on several occasion. Special appearance at the event was Dr. Bamiduro Adedotun, a past president of the association who came to support the event, and participated actively in seeing to the smooth running of the event.
The final and third place matches are slated to hold on a later date. On that day, the 2014 and 2015 sets will fight for the crown, while the 2018 set will battle the 2017 set for third place.
