WEIRD FOOD COMBINATIONS YOU SHOULD TRY OUT

0

Food remains a very important aspect of our lives. As Africans, many of our food comes in combinations to make the required balanced diet like rice and vegetable, pap and Akara, rice and beans, yam and egg and so on. These combinations are seen as the norm in our society. However, this should not stop us from deriving our own combinations after all the main requirement for a meal is that it is healthy and a balanced diet. Hence, I will be sharing some food combinations that you can explore.
1. NOODLES AND POTATOES
If your noodles still look plain, then you are missing out on a lot! Noodles can be prepared in different combinations and you should not be missing out on any of these. However, noodles and potatoes is a combination that I totally recommend. Boil your potatoes (they should be sliced into tiny bits) for some minutes, then add noodles and vegetables (chopped carrots, green peppers and green spring onions). The result is a delicious meal. You should give it a try!
2. BREAD AND PEPPER SOUP
Pepper soup is taken mostly as an appetizer. However, it can be upgraded to a main dish on the menu if it is taken with bread. I mean, it’s high time we took advantage of this soup. You can dip the bread in the soup like a hoodlum or take a bite of bread and two sips of pepper soup like a gentleman or woman. Whichever style you choose will definitely make for a good try.
3. YAM AND OKRO.
Okro is a delicious soup that I think is criminally underrated. While I understand that the yam and okro combination is for the strong, some of you already enjoy eating amala and okro (a hoodlum behavior by the way). So you can as well go all the way and take your yam with okro. Try this combination and you will be glad you did!
4. RICE/SPAGHETTI AND EGUSI
Have you noticed that it is these carbohydrate classes of food that encourage these combinations? Spaghetti, rice, yam, bread. Egusi soup is a very delicious and rich soup that can be added to various dishes. So if you are still eating egusi with just swallow then you are disrespecting the soup! Take your egusi soup with rice or spaghetti and thank me later.
5. SEMOVITA WITH MILK AND SUGAR ADDED.

It’s no longer news that semo belongs in the trash. But, what if we salvage the poor thing and take it with milk and sugar? This can be done in two ways; add some milk to the water for preparing semo, then serve your semo with any soup of your choice. Or make your semo into pap, then add milk and sugar. Whichever way you prepare it, trust me, it bangs!

In conclusion, my hope is that I have been able to broaden your scope of imagination and henceforth you will no longer settle for just the regular combinations but go ahead to derive your own combinations. Go forth and have amazing meals!
