Paul Hendrickse Hall, UCH – The University of Ibadan Medical Students Associations (UIMSA) in conjunction with the Becker Professional EDUCATION, organised a training session today, September 18.

The training session, put together by the team led by Dr. Adedayo Adeboye; a US board certified invasive cardiologist took place at the Paul Hendrickse Lecture Theatre, University College Hospital, Ibadan.
Becker Professional Education is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), a U.S. Department of Education nationally recognized agency that promotes quality-oriented education and training through the establishment of standards and an accreditation process focused on integrity.

With over 300 students in attendance all the way from the Preclinical School on the main campus, the training session featured an extensive discuss on the journey to residency in the United States, including preparation for the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE), Residency matching and Board Certification as a practicing physician in the United States.

Lasting for over two hours, all in attendance were fully engaged by Dr. Adeboye; including the possible media created by Becker to assist in the preparations for the Licensure examinations.

Speaking with the convener, Dr. Adeboye, he told ABH PRESS of the need for Medical Students to have as much information to make life decisions after medical school, stating that the purpose of the training session was neither to scare the attendees or encourage doctors to flee the country.

It was indeed an exciting and highly educative event for all present, as many spoke highly of the programme.

I did learn a lot, especially how the USMLE questions are set. We do have a lot to learn,” an attendee attested.
