Burna Boy blesses us with another Banger – ON THE LOW
– By ONYEKACHI OSONDU, ABH PRESS
You thought he was done. Well, you thought wrong. 2018 was certainly Burna Boy’s year and no one can argue with that. He started off strongly by releasing the people’s anthem “YE” which soon became a world-wide banger. Then followed that up with the release of his second studio album ‘Outside’ in January, an album that would be mentioned till the end of time with singles like ‘Heaven’s Gate’ and ‘Sekkle Down’ setting the pace.
You’d have thought he had accomplished enough for the year but it seems he was only getting started. He sold out the O2 Arena in October and joined the league of the elite few who have sold out the stadium in London. Also in October Burna boy was voted Youtube’s artist of the month and was featured on the big screens all across Time Square, New York. In addition, he was featured by major artists across the globe including Fall Out Boy, Rita Ora, J Hus and Major Lazer.
After doing so much to stamp his name in the history books, no one would have complained if he took a hiatus from the music scene. Honestly we’re not even done listening to his recently released tracks ‘Gbona’ and ‘All my life’. He thought the time was right however, to bless us with another Afro-fusion track titled ‘ON THE LOW’.
‘On the low’ is a song you can groove to, dance to and even lose your mind to. The song produced by Kel P has a melodious as well as intimate beat accompanied by OluwaBurna’s calm ad enticing voice. On the 16th of November Burna Boy released the visuals to ‘On The Low’. The intimacy of the song is further emphasized by the video which is set indoors, visualizing the message through dance scenes and intimate close ups.
Listen and thank us later.
