The Grammy-award-winning star has confirmed a return to music, releasing a preview for a new song titled ‘Easy on Me’, set to be released on Friday, October 15th. Fans were in a frenzy after she updated her social media accounts and website ahead of the highly-anticipated release of a new album. Her comeback has been long-awaited since her last album in 2015 titled ‘25’ and fans believe the new album will be titled ‘30’ even though she hasn’t confirmed this yet, but she has previously said that ‘25’ will be the last to be titled after her age at the time. This would be her fourth album following ’25’ in 2015, ’21’ in 2011 and ’19’ in 2009.

It appears though that this record could be her most personal yet as she said in the November issue of Vogue, “I always say that 21 doesn’t belong to me anymore. Everyone else took it into their hearts so much. I’m not letting go of this one. This is my album. I want to share myself with everyone, but I don’t think I’ll ever let this one go.” She also mentioned that the album is about self-destruction, then self-reflection and then some sort of self-redemption. For fans wondering about her happiness, she told Vogue that she and Konecki had broken up for some time before they told people and that she’s on her journey to find her true happiness. It was also reported in The Times on the 7th of October, 2021 that she recorded her newest album to explain her divorce to her son and why she “chose to dismantle his entire life” in the pursuit of her own happiness.
About her weight loss, she told Vogue that following her divorce and the COVID-19 pandemic, her anxiety was at an all time high and she turned to exercise for relief which made her feel better. “I understand why it’s a shock. I understand why some women especially were hurt. Visually, I represented a lot of women. But I’m still the same person,” she told Vogue. She also mentioned that you don’t need to be overweight to be body positive and that you can be any shape or size.
Based on the snippet of “Easy On Me,” it seems Adele fans are in for quite the treat.
