Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State has nominated Miss Joana Nnazua Kolo, a 26-year-old, as a commissioner in his cabinet.
Miss Kolo, who hails from Edu Local Government of the state, is a 2018 graduate of Library Science of Kwara State University (KWASU) and is currently having her National Youth Service Corps programme in Jigawa State, where she teaches at Model Boarding Junior Secondary School, Guri.
Kolo is an ardent advocate of community development, and if confirmed by the Kwara State House of Assembly, will become the youngest commissioner in Nigeria; taking the title from Oyo’s 27-year-old Seun Fakorede.
Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said on Tuesday that her screening for the cabinet seat would hold after she rounds off her NYSC service in the next two weeks.
Miss Kolo is one of four female commissioner-nominees, whose names were sent to the Kwara State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
