THE UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN VICE CHANCELLOR SELECTION PROCESS CANCELLED
One of the decisions reached by the newly constituted Governing Council of the University of Ibadan at its meeting on Friday, 02 July, 2021, presided by its chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, was on the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor for the University. The council decided to cancel the previous exercise and restart the entire VC selection process afresh.
The council also resolved that apart from the cancellation, the VC position should be re-advertised and a new timetable for the commencement of the new process be released in the second week of July 2021, as stated in the Premium Times.
It should be recalled that the VC selection process started in May 2020, but had been marred with various allegations as reported by several news sources. It is the hope of many that this process would be run smoothly this time around.
