A GOAT IN THE RISING?
AHMED MUSA THE G.O.A.T (Greatest Of All Time)?
Ahmed Musa was regarded as the G.O.A.T after his display against Iceland in the world cup group stage match day 2. Ahmed Musa struck two deadly blows at the very heart of Iceland, boosting the hopes of Nigeria for the world cup qualification with a 2-0 defeat of Iceland. The shouts of joy could be heard around Alexander Brown Hall and beyond, as Musa gracefully plucked the ball out of the air after a cross by Victor Moses before thumping the ball into the net.
Even louder screams could be heard as Musa scored the second goal receiving a pass from Kenneth Omeruo and then running towards goal beating an Icelandic defender before rounding the keeper and slotting it home.
His adept display at the yesterday’s match has placed him currently as Nigeria’s highest world cup goal scorer with four goals in six matches; two of which he scored against our next opponents, Argentina, in the 2014 world cup. Ahmed Musa won the man of match award for his breath-taking display as he literally terrorized Iceland defence causing havoc with his notorious pace. Players such as Oghenekaro Etebo and Kenneth Omeruo also put in notable performances
It was indeed a heart-rending evening for Nigeria as a country, as she was certainly delighted with the super eagles display and can only hope for more of the same in our next fixture. It might seem an uphill task but confidence is certainly running high after the last outing and with Nigeria’s new G.O.A.T on the field, surely there would be fireworks, hopefully!
Nigeria will be meeting Argentina, next week Tuesday to complete her trio group stage matches.
