ABH, IBADAN – The Jaja dispensary in ABH, an annex of the Jaja clinic on the main campus of the University of Ibadan which was established to provide drugs to Brownites is on a temporary lockdown. The dispensary was met under lock and key after resumption from the 8-week strike thereby denying students access to necessary drugs. There is presently no pharmacist at the facility to attend to Brownites. The shut down according to the health minister, Mr Chibuike is due to the recent change in the insurance policy of federal university health centres by the government and of which Jaja annex is part. The details of the insurance policy are still being worked on and are therefore not well delineated as at now.

Brownites who need drugs will have to get them at pharmacy stores themselves or make use of the limited supply of the ABH Health ministry until the dispensary is reopened. Brownites can contact their floor representatives or members of the Health ministry for basic and common drugs. This may however not be sufficient for majority of  Brownites.

We hope this will be resolved very soon so Brownites can once again enjoy the services of the dispensary.
