After 19years, comedian, Ellen DeGeneres, has stated that she will be ending daytime talk show next year, which is when the new season ends. She made this announcement on Wednesday, May 12, with the final episode of the show slates to air in the spring of 2022.
Different scandals as regards a toxic working conditions, with issues like racist comments from senior producers among others, plagued the premier of the 18th season of the talk show. However, Ellen DeGeneres has stated that this is not the reason for the termination of the show. “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged — and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres stated in her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, while discussing the move publicly for the first time.
At the end of the show, Ellen DeGeneres would have done over 3000 shows involving about 2400 celebrities over the course of 19 years. We wait to see the new challenge Ellen seeks to conquer.
