J6 AWARDS OUTSTANDING FEMALE CAMPUS JOURNALIST

A couple of names dominated campus journalism in the last couple of years and the squad “J6” is not at all strange in the University of Ibadan Campus Journalism. Demonstrating excellence as penpusher, J6 comprises of Femi Adesope, Alao Abiodun Joshua, Kayinsola Olorunnisola, Haleem Olatunji and Iyinoluwa Ajayi.

The Outstanding Female Campus Journalist award which was presented at the 2018, UCJ Luncheon on 17th November was in fulfillment of a pledge made during the 2017 luncheon and was intiated to fuel the spirit of campus journalism in females.

Of an initial shortlist of 7 candidates, the 3 final nominees for award were Taiwo Olawehinmi, Babatunde Aishat and Olamide Tejuoso. The award was clinched clinched by 2018 nominee for FOPA Outstanding Person in Journalism, Miss Aishat Babatunde of Awolowo Press Organisation. The plaque which comes with a 30,000 naira cash prize was presented by Kayinsola Olorunnisola, Alao Abiodun and Femi Adesope on behalf of J6.

Aishat Babatunde was also conferred with the status “Veteran Journalist” alongside the trio of Akinpelu Yusuf, Olusanya Martins Isaac and Olapade Oluwasegunfunmilola during the luncheon.
