The University of Ibadan Main Campus will be having armed policemen from the Oyo State Police Command to complement the Campus Security Service in patrolling the campus.
This decision, among others, is the outcome of a meeting of the University Security Committee on Monday, August 19, 2019 to review the security situation on the campus, as contained in a release by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Idowu Olayinka.

All business outfits within the campus have also been asked to close not later than 9pm every day including the cafeterias. Furthermore, the Campus Security Service will embark on random checks of staff quarters to identify unauthorized occupants.
Also, the Physical Planning and Project Management Unit will embark on demolition of illegal structures in residential areas.
Recall that there have been multiple attacks from the men of the night on halls of residence and staff residential areas in recent times. These measures, they hope, would curb the incessant breach of security.
