The Fastest Hat-trick in Football History
In the world of football, achieving a hat-trick is a notable feat, but setting the record for the fastest hat-trick is an extraordinary one. On April 28, 2013, Alex Torr, a 20-year-old player from Rawson Spring in the British Amateur League, did just that, etching his name into football history.
On a seemingly typical day in the league, Rawson Spring faced Wayne Gardner’s squad. The match started as any other, but what happened over a short period was anything but ordinary. Eleven minutes in, Torr scored his first goal. The spectacle, however, was just beginning. Within the next 30 seconds, he astounded everyone, including the opposition, by scoring a second goal.
The pinnacle of this astonishing feat came at 12 minutes and 10 seconds. Following the restart, Torr completed his hat-trick. Completing this feat in just 70 seconds, Torr’s performance was later recognized by the Guinness World Records as the fastest hat-trick in the history of the sport.
The match ended with a 7-1 victory for Rawson Spring, but the day was undeniably Torr’s. Everyone was left in awe. Even the referee, Matt Tyre, acknowledged that he had never witnessed anything like that before.
Torr secured his position as the only British player to hold this record, raising the bar for future talents in football.
