The golden child of the footballing world is back The English premier league is back.
Today, August ,2018 marks the beginning of the EPL in view with the Community Shield being played between the winners of the Premier league champions and FA Cup winners of last season (2017/2018 season);Manchester City and Chelsea at the Wembley stadium.
The game started with Manchester City getting an early lead in the 15th minute by Sergio Aguero. The second half started with City dominating and finally, he doubled their lead in the 58th minute. This game showed us exactly why Manchester City were champions last season and it was a great game to usher us into the 2018/2019 season
The EPL is one which has many turns and unexpected twists from shouty managers on the sidelines to players with beautiful tantrums to watch.
Questions that we would love to see answered are: Do Arsenal and Chelsea have renewed fighting chances of breaking into the top 4 under the new managerial leadership of Unai Emery(Arsenal) and Maurizio Sarri (Chelsea)?
Noteworthy is Arsenal’s pre-season form in the months of July and August that fans and pundits alike are backing them to; if they should carry this form and level of performance into the season
Would Manchester City be able to retain the title or would the Red Devils fight harder than they did last season and beat them to it? No doubt in our minds that the return of world cup winner Paul Pogba in the Manchester United midfield will boost the confidence in Mourinho’s dressing room.
How will the newly promoted sides; Cardiff City, Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers fare in the premier league; would they get relegated immediately, would they barely survive and hold on or would they surprise and pull a ‘Leicester City’ on us?
We shall find out all the answers to these questions in the coming 38 match weeks which most definitely would be full of drama.
