RACHAEL ONIGA’S FAMILY CLEARS AIR ON DEATH
Since Racheal Oniga, the popular movie star, passed away on Friday night, there have been divergent news as to the cause of her death.
Some news outlets had it that the actress died of COVID-19 complications.
Some others said that her son, Olatunji, attested to that his mother died of Malaria and Typhoid and Mr Olamilekan Ojora, the Public Relations Officer of the Actors’ Guild, Lagos Chapter, affirmed this.
Her family has however cleared the air regarding the cause of her death. Her family revealed that she died of a heart disease in a hospital in Lagos on Friday night. Her sister disclosed that the deceased had been struggling with the disease for a while before her demise. The veteran actress, who hailed from Eku in Delta State, was aged 64 years.
Her acting career began after a broken marriage in 1993 and she came into the limelight just few years after then. During her lifetime, she starred in countless English and Yoruba movies which include the popular TV Series, “Super Story” and others such as “The Wedding Party”, “Doctor Bello”, “30 Days in Atlanta”, “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel”, “My Village People”, among others.
Many have been shaken up at the news of her death. Prominent people in the movie industry have expressed their grief at the passing of Rachael.
Her death is a painful loss to the industry and she will indeed be missed by many Nollywood aficionados. Details about her burial will be announced soon.
