A coach of the Nigeria national football team, the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf, has been caught on camera receiving bribe. Mr Yusuf is the head coach of the Super Eagles B team and also an assistant to Gernot Rohr in the main Eagles team just back from the Russia 2018 World Cup

Mr Yusuf was caught on camera receiving a bribe of *1000 dollars from undercover reporters posing as football agents who wanted two players to be selected for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) open to only home-based players. He was also promised 15 percent of the fee if the players were chosen for the championship.

The BBC video footage is part of a wider investigation into corruption in African football spearheaded by the Ghanaian journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas. His previous investigation into corruption in the football association of Ghana led to the resignation of the head of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, after he was also caught on camera receiving bribe last month. The Nigerian Football Federation is yet to respond to the footage.
