The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology has increased the fees of its students to #200, 000 for students who are indigenes of owner states of Osun and Oyo, and #250,000 for students from other states of the federation. The new fee which will become payable as from the 2018/2019 session is against the former N63,500 for returning students who are indigenes of Oyo and Osun states and N72,500 for non-indigenes which were being paid previously.
The notice of the increment which was signed by the school’s registrar was sent to the students mail on Monday, October 15. The 28-year old institution owned by Osun and Oyo state, is notorious for incessant strikes, the last of which was an 8-month strike by the school’s chapter of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) due to poor funding and nonpayment of salaries and other allowances by the government.
