Iranian crowds gather to mourn general killed by US strike
On Saturday, crowds gathered in Baghdad to mourn the death of the Iranian general – Qasem Soleimani – that got killed in the recent Us led airstrike.
The crowd kept chanting “Death to America”, holding up portraits of the recently deceased in the streets of the Iraqi capital where Soleimani’s remains were being moved from Iraq.
Soleimani (62 years old) was killed in a US drone strike Friday near Baghdad international airport.
The assassination, has further stirred up tensions between the two countries involved and has sparked rumours of a war in the Middle
Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed “severe revenge” and declared three days of mourning following the news of his death.
