FOPA ABH Winners: ‘I was shocked and never expected it’- Folajomi Isa, ‘…I’m in awe of the achievement’ -Michael Adejumo
Mr Folajomi Isa has won the award for the hall management category at the annual Fifteen Outstanding Persons Award organized by the Junior Chambers International, University of Ibadan. Mr Isa, who is the chairman of Alexander Brown Hall beat Mr Olafare Ayotola of Kuti Hall and Mr Aquah-Christian Viva of Nnmadi Azikiwe to clinch the award as the best stufent leader in hall management in the University.
Mr Isa who said he was ‘shocked and never expected it’ however stated that “it’s an encouragement to do more and resolutely pursue our goals for the progress of Alexander Brown Hall”.
Likewise, Mr Michael Adejumo, the President of National Association of Dental Students and Unibadan Association of Dental Students, was awarded the University’s Student Personality Category beating Mr Ernesto Dibia and Mr Martin’s Isaac to the highly coveted award.
Mr Adejumo who couldn’t contain his joy said “I am in a very high spirit and in awe of the achievement. Many big wins to come but that word, ‘Personality’ makes it so exceptional. Now I see why it was the last award presented at the night”.
Other nominees from ABH include Folajomi Adesanya of Panacea Project nominated for Selfless contribution to a worthy cause, Bolu Aderounmu for Student Leadership and Ernesto Dibia for UI Personality category.
The award ceremony took place yesterday at The Wole Soyinka Art Theatre, University of Ibadan. It is a recognition of students of the university who have shown outstanding capabilities in various categories such as leadership, academics, sport, selfless contribution to the society among others.
Last year, Mr Tunde-Alao Tobi aka ‘Leget’ was the only winner from ABH out of the four nominees. He won the award for most outstanding student in academics.
