Accident Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Claims One Life
An Accident which occurred earlier today along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway has left one man dead and nine others injured according to the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps in Ogun State.
The TRACE spokesperson, Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi stated that the accident occurred at 10.15am and involved a Mazda bus with plate number KRE-495 XA and a Mack tanker marked LND-868 XN. He added that there was a head-on collision which was due to the bus driver trying to overtake the vehicle ahead of it without taking proper caution, as the road had been converted to a single lane due to the ongoing construction.
Of the nine people injured, five were male adults while four were female adults. They were taken to the State Hospital, Isara for medical attention while the deceased was taken to FOS Mortuary, Ipara.
Mr. Akinbiyi stressed that it is important for motorists to keep to the 50km/hr speed limit in construction areas as this would prevent tragedies such as this.
