ALEXANDER BROWN HALL FEMALE AFFAIRS MINISTRY PARTNERS WITH LEND A HAND AFRICA (LAHA)

IBADAN, NIGERIA – Alexander Brown Hall Female Affairs Ministry ( ABHFAM) led by Miss Olaseni Oluwadamilola has set the ball rolling in no time. In less than a month of inauguration, the ministry has embarked on laudable activities which were part of the promises made during the manifesto. The first of it is the “Ready to School Drive”.

This programme which held on the 4th of July was a collaboration between the Alexander Brown Hall Female Affairs Ministry and Lend-A-Hand Africa. The programme was aimed at promoting and supporting students with skills to learn effectively and also seek to expose them to individuals who were excelling in their various fields to enable them stay in school and live their dreams.

A school in Ibadan, Abe Secondary Technical School , Odo -Ona Elewe Ibadan was the venue for the outreach. Ten (10) members from the ABHFAM were there as volunteers to represent the ministry.

The programme started with a member of LAHA addressing the students. He educated and enlightened them on how to choose their career and also excel in their chosen fields. Thereafter, a round of raffle draw took place in which four students won a carton of Indomie Noodles each.

The next session, Mr Olukokun J.O, the Local Government Inspector of NYSC Oluyole Local Government, admonished the students to stay focused and believe in themselves. In his words, he said, “….what you need is focus , hardworking, determination and diligence and by the special grace of God, you will get to the top.”

Another round of raffle draw took place and winners also got cartons of Indomie Noodles. Thereafter, was the panel session in which two members from the ABHFAM, Mr. Segun and Mr. Dolapo were the panelists. The students asked various questions bothering on how to make career choices and the panelists tried to answer.

The last round of the raffle draw took place after which some selected students ( about 10 of them) were given cartoons of noodles too while another set of students ( about 20 of them) got new pairs of school uniform. Students from J.S.S1 to J.S.S3 who were over 500 in number, were also given an exercise book and a pen or pencil each.

The students were quite elated and appreciated Miss Bimbo the convener of LAHA as well as ABHFAM representatives who were present. They promised to stay focused and be the best so that they can also give back to their society as it is being done to them.
