Over the years, the 2018 class as a medical set in the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan has been a special one. This is evidenced by the various beautiful activities the class has partaken in as a unit (Inter-group quiz competition and Sports Day)
On September 21 (Saturday), the class showcased their talents with a musical choral rendition. The rendition took place at the Famewo Common Room, Alexander Brown Hall, University College Hospital. It kicked off with an opening remark from the music director who also doubles as the class leader, Obeya Mark.
The program which was moderated by Jaachi Nwaagbara, also a member of the class witnessed presentations from Ugwu Charles who rendered BELLACIAO, kelechi Ugwagu who sang “Can’t Stop Falling in Love” along with Cassandra.
It was an event, richly adorned with Classical Music, Folk songs and instrumentals amongst others. The most notable was the tear-jerking rendition of ‘Can’t help falling in love with you’ which left members of the audience asking ‘God When?’. There were certainly goosebumps from listening to their rendition of the Latin hymn ‘Pie Jesu’ and indeed every song, every chord, every act and every laugh remains to be treasured in our hearts.
They indeed had to plead with members of the audience, who just wanted more of them, to leave after listening to their unplanned rendition of ‘Ese, E wa malo’. The night ended with a dance by the choir.
The 2K18 class has outdone themselves with this program and more so the spirit of all their programs, building togetherness and affection for one another, which is admirable. They are, as they put it, creating lasting memories.
