Gareth Bale has been offered a staggering £1m-a-week package by Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan. The Chinese club is chasing the 30-year-old with Real Madrid desperate to offload him this summer and Bayern Munich interested while Paris Saint Germain have also been linked as part of a swap deal involving Neymar.
Bale is being sidelined by Zinedine Zidane with the Welshman’s agent Jonathan Barnett branding the Real Madrid boss a “disgrace.”
Real Madrid star Bale is already on £650,000-a-week and a move to China would make him the highest-paid player in the world and Beijing Guoan are one of the few clubs to be able to afford him.
The total package would be spread over the course of Bale’s contract and is designed to tempt one of football’s biggest stars but it is still more likely that he will stay in Europe
Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara has urged Bale to move to Germany and said: “We will have the door open to you. (Arjen) Robben, (Franck) Ribery and Bale play in similar positions on the field and we lost Robben and Ribery in our midfield, two historic members of this club. If Gareth wants to come, any top player who wants to come here is welcome.”
Ex-Spurs star Bale knows there are no takers in the Premier League any longer with Manchester United insisting they are not interested, Chelsea are under a transfer ban and Tottenham are not interested.
Bale, who has helped Real Madrid win four Champions Leagues during six years at the Bernabeu, is running out of options but he is also determined not to be forced out unless he wants to go as he enjoys life in Spain and has three years left on his current deal.
Zidane left Bale out of Real Madrid’s matchday squad for their friendly with Bayern Munich on Saturday, claiming he “hopes he leaves soon” and now the Spanish giants face Arsenal in Washington on Tuesday.
Bale’s agent Barnett said: “Zidane is a disgrace, he shows no respect for a player that has done so much for Real Madrid. If and when Gareth goes it will be because it is in the best interest of Gareth and nothing to do with Zidane pushing.”
